At Emmaüs Bougival, I contribute as an IT volunteer, supporting the community’s mission of social inclusion and environmental sustainability.
During my internship, I revitalized the community’s IT workshop, overseeing the repair and maintenance of donated computers and ensuring they were ready for reuse or sale. I also trained companions, equipping them with the digital skills necessary to enhance their autonomy and navigate everyday tasks in a connected world.
Beyond technical support, I helped optimize donation logistics and participated in the organization of a major charity sale, which raised funds to sustain Emmaüs’s activities. This experience deepened my understanding of digital inclusion and circular economy practices, both central to Emmaüs’s values.
Since the end of my internship, I have continued to volunteer on weekends, during holidays, and remotely, providing ongoing IT assistance, troubleshooting, and digital literacy training for the companions. My work directly supports Emmaüs’s commitment to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly those related to reducing inequalities and responsible consumption.
In this role, I focus on:
- Digital inclusion: empowering companions through digital skills training.
- IT support and maintenance: repairing and preparing donated devices for resale or reuse.
- Logistics and event organization: optimizing operations and supporting charity events.
- Sustainability: promoting responsible technology use and reuse.
